What the synopsis promises
Civilization has collapsed, and one man seems to be all that is left of his half of the species. Picking through the ruins, he stumbles onto a concealed community made up entirely of women. It is ruled by a queen who is as seductive as she is dangerous, and she does not greet him as a miracle. She sees a trophy, one she intends to hand around among her restless followers.
A genre swerve for Candy
Most of the catalogue lives in houses, offices and hotel rooms. A post-apocalyptic enclave is a real change of scenery, and the premise borrows a pulp sci-fi idea that has been around for decades: the lone survivor who becomes the most valuable thing in a world that has moved on without men. It is a fantasy in both senses of the word, and it does not pretend otherwise.
The queen is the interesting part. A ruler who treats the new arrival as property to distribute gives the story a figure of authority and a hint of menace, rather than just a crowd of admirers. Whether the series does anything with her beyond that setup is something the synopsis does not say.
