The story so far
Jake has just moved in with his girlfriend, which means moving in with her stepmom too. She has one rule for him. Then there is a blindfold. Then there is a household tradition that nobody thought to warn him about. And by the time her husband walks through the door, the synopsis tells us, everyone is in on something except Jake.
Why this one is more than the tags
On tags alone, it looks like dozens of other Candy series. The difference is the structure. The synopsis escalates in clear steps, each one a little stranger than the last, and it ends on a reveal: the whole family seems to know more than the newcomer does. That gives the five episodes a sense of mystery that most stepmom stories do not attempt.
It also casts Jake as the outsider, which is a smart choice. The viewer learns the rules of the house at the same pace he does.
Reasons for caution
A twist is only as good as its payoff, and we cannot tell you whether this one lands. The phrase “family tradition” could mean something clever or something very simple. The free episodes are the place to decide whether the setup has you curious enough to find out.
