What Candy tells us
Roxy spends a lot of energy pushing back against the way her stepbrother looks at her, and she says she has had enough. The synopsis immediately undercuts that with a question: has she really? Once she stops resisting and follows what she actually feels, the step-sibling relationship crosses a line and, in Candy’s words, enters a new era.
Despite the title, the synopsis says nothing specific about a weekend away, so we will not guess at the setting. What it does make clear is the arc: denial first, then surrender.
Our honest read
This is a thin premise. Roxy’s reluctance is the only obstacle, there is no third character mentioned, and the turning point is already spelled out in the description. Compared with step-sibling series that add a rivalry, a secret or a partner to deceive, it offers very little story.
What it has going for it is focus. The point of view sits with Roxy, and the series is really about her changing her mind. If you like a story where the woman’s shift from irritation to interest is the entire point, that simplicity may suit you. If you want a reason to keep watching beyond the obvious, it may not.
