The premise
Talia takes a job inside an international biotech company that is clearly up to something. Her mission is to find out what. The synopsis hints that the suspicious finances are the least of it, and that her time at the firm leads her into something much more personal than an audit.
That is genuinely all Candy tells us. There is no named target, no handler and no explanation of who sent her, so the cast and stakes are left for the episodes to fill in. The phrase about more than creative accounting is doing a lot of work, and it is the only hint of where the series goes.
The pitch versus the promise
An undercover story is an unusual choice for Candy, where most series are built on a family relationship or a partner’s friend. Espionage brings its own tension for free: a cover to protect, people who must not find out, and a reason for the lead to do things she otherwise would not.
