What it is about
Isabella is a journalist and a woman of faith, living a quiet and orderly life. A work assignment puts her in front of Manalo, a rockstar with a notorious reputation. His charisma and rebellious streak pull at her, and she finds herself doubting the beliefs she has built her life on. Candy’s synopsis stops there, which leaves the rest of the story for the episodes to tell.
A slower kind of Candy series
This is a different animal from most of the catalogue. The premise is a character study: a disciplined woman meeting someone who represents everything she has avoided, and the question of whether she changes. The “revelation” of the title is about her, not about a scenario.
That is supported by the length. At seven episodes it is longer than the usual five, and it is the only series on Candy with exactly seven. The extra room suits a story built on a gradual shift rather than a single encounter.
The catch
The synopsis is one of the most restrained on Candy, and there are no Candy tags to hint at where things go. Some viewers will find that refreshing; others will want to know more before paying. We have not rated it on our explicitness scale yet either. The devout-woman-meets-bad-boy dynamic is also a very old one, so the appeal depends on execution more than on originality.
