What happens, in outline
A young woman goes into therapy to break her obsession with the man who lives in her mother’s home. The sessions do not go as planned: she discovers that the therapist, her mother and both of her sisters are already shaping what he wants, as if they were writing it in advance. The synopsis says no more than that, and it names none of the characters, so the man at the center remains a mystery too.
A stranger idea than the title
The title sounds like one more stepsister story, and there is no shortage of those on Candy: 19 series carry the Sister tag. The premise is odder and more ambitious. A therapist as a player rather than a helper, and a family that seems to be running a script, gives the series a hint of psychological thriller. It turns the heroine from the one with a secret into the one who is out of the loop.
That ambition is also the risk. Five episodes is not much room for a therapist, a mother, two sisters and a heroine, and the synopsis leaves it unclear whether the “script” is a real conspiracy or a metaphor. Viewers who want a simple forbidden-attraction story may find it overcrowded.
