The premise, all of it
Candy’s synopsis runs to two sentences and an ellipsis. A wife brings in a maid, then leaves for her job. Between nine in the morning and eight at night, nobody else is home but the husband and the woman his wife chose to hire. The ellipsis does the rest of the work.
What it has
A premise this spare still has a couple of things going for it. The irony is built in: the wife made the hiring decision herself, so the temptation arrives with her blessing, however unintended. And the hours are oddly specific. That is most of the day, and the synopsis clearly wants you to notice.
The household setting also keeps things simple and intimate: one house, two people, one absent spouse. It is the classic maid fantasy in its plainest form.
