The idea
Yuna is a robot maid. She is brought into a home to help, and instead she lights a fire under the couple’s marriage. The synopsis adds, with a wink, that this is a good thing.
That is the whole description, one sentence long. It is enough to tell you that the series is about a married couple and an artificial third party, and that the tone is playful rather than destructive. Everything else, including which spouse she affects and how, is left for the episodes.
What makes it different
Very few Candy series have a science-fiction angle, and a robot maid is a clever way to sidestep the usual cheating drama. If Yuna is a machine, is it an affair at all? That question gives the premise a different flavor from the dozens of human love triangles in the catalogue. The “in the best way” line also suggests a story where the marriage comes out stronger, or at least livelier, rather than broken.
It is also one of only a handful of series tagged Maid, which makes it a niche pick in a catalogue where Taboo and Milf dominate.
What holds it back
A single-line synopsis leaves a lot unknown. We do not learn anything about the couple, why they bought a robot or whether Yuna has a will of her own. The concept is doing all the work, and concepts can wear thin over five episodes if there is nothing underneath.
Heat and free episodes
We rate Y.U.N.A 3 out of 5 for explicitness on our scale, the mildest rating we have given. Episodes 1 and 2 are free, which is the right way to find out whether the robot idea is played for charm or simply as a costume.
What finishing costs
The last three episodes are 12 tokens each, 36 tokens in total. That comes to about $1.44 on the yearly plan, $3.24 on the quarterly plan or $5.04 on the monthly one. Our cost guide explains how the plans convert into tokens.
Who it is for
- For you if you like a sci-fi twist, a couple rather than a single lead and a premise that is playful rather than about betrayal.
- Not for you if you want the most explicit series or a story with a clear plot.
Maid series compared
Candy’s other Maid titles take a more traditional line. Room Service is rated 5 out of 5 on our scale and is the pick if you want the service fantasy at full strength. My Best Friends’ Daughter pairs the Maid tag with Taboo and is rated 3 out of 5, like Yuna. Both cost 36 tokens.
Verdict
Y.U.N.A is one of the more imaginative premises on Candy, even if the synopsis gives us only the outline. The robot angle and the upbeat framing set it apart, while the mild rating and thin description hold it back. Worth two free episodes for curiosity alone; whether it earns 36 tokens depends on how well the concept is sustained.
