The pitch
Candy’s synopsis for Room Service is three short sentences, closer to a teaser poster than a plot summary. A husband and wife have been married for five years and are back at the same hotel for the fifth year running. She takes long showers, twenty minutes at a time. And the people who bring up room service are aware of it.
That is all it says, and it leaves the rest to you. The Maid tag suggests hotel staff play a bigger part than a breakfast tray would, and the careful mention of those showers hints at a window of time someone is making use of. Who, and with whom, the synopsis does not spell out, and neither will we.
Why the minimalism works
Most Candy synopses tell you exactly where the story is heading. This one withholds, and that is its best quality. The repeated fives, the routine anniversary trip, the precise shower length: it reads like a setup built on habit, where the tension comes from a pattern someone has learned to exploit. It is a more grown-up hook than the stepfamily scenarios that fill much of the catalogue, and the married-couple angle gives it a different flavor.
The downside is that you are buying a mood rather than a story you can size up in advance. If you want to know the cast and the conflict before you commit, the free episodes will have to do that job.

Verdict
Room Service is the rare Candy short that trusts you to fill in the blanks. The hotel routine and the married couple make for an adult, slightly knowing premise, and the 5 out of 5 rating says it follows through. For 36 tokens, it is one of the easier recommendations in the catalogue.
