The setup
This one is told from the point of view of the man who made a promise. His best friend pleaded with him to shield his daughter from unsuitable men, and he agreed. The irony the synopsis lands on is that he is the unsuitable man, and his friend never suspected it. It is a one-line hook with a built-in sense of guilt.
Where the tension comes from
The appeal here is less about the daughter than about the friendship. Every step the narrator takes is also a betrayal of someone who trusted him, and that gives the premise more weight than a chance encounter between strangers. The first-person framing also suggests a confessional tone, with the narrator well aware of what he is doing.
Candy tags the series Maid as well as Taboo, which the synopsis does not explain. It may hint at how she ends up around his house, but that is a guess from the tag, not something Candy states.
The weak spots
For all the moral tension, the synopsis is short on plot. There is no mention of the friend finding out, no rival and no deadline, so the story seems to rest on one forbidden situation stretched over five episodes. The protector-turned-problem idea also turns up in plenty of adult fiction; it is effective but not fresh.
