Premise
Your father has a new partner, Colette, and she is a lot younger than he is. She is warm, easygoing and impossible to overlook. The attraction between the two of you is plain from the start, and the question the series poses is whether some boundaries exist to be broken.
Told in the second person, it casts you as the son and puts the father in the role of the person you would be betraying. Colette is named and characterized; the rest is left for the episodes.
A slightly longer run
The most notable thing about Dad’s New Girlfriend is its length. It has 6 episodes rather than the usual five, one of only two series in the catalogue with that count. That extra episode matters for a slow-burn premise built on glances and hesitation, since it gives the tension one more step before anything is resolved.
