What it is about
Mona’s stepbrother is smug, untidy and, by her own account, unbearable. And yet she always seems to be around when he is, poking at him, winding him up and teasing him every chance she gets. The synopsis suggests the obvious conclusion: all that friction is building toward some kind of release.
This is enemies-to-lovers in its simplest form. The title calls it an obsession, which is a fair word for someone who insists she hates a person she cannot leave alone.
The appeal and the catch
Bickering is an underrated engine for a short series. It gives the characters something to do from the first scene, and the gap between what Mona says and what she does is the whole joke. She is also the one driving the story, which makes her more interesting than the passive leads of some step-sibling series.
The catch is that this is one of the most familiar setups in the catalogue. The Sister tag covers a lot of series, and many of them start from some version of a stepsister who is annoyed, curious or both. Nothing in the synopsis points to a twist, a rival or a secret, so the series will stand or fall on how well the banter is written.
