What it is about
You head to the coast for a romantic summer with your girlfriend from college: sunshine, the beach, time together. Her stepmother comes too, and she has a very different idea of how the holiday should go. The temptation she represents proves hard to resist, and the synopsis hints that the real games are not the ones on the boardwalk.
Like several Candy series, it is written in the second person, casting the viewer as the boyfriend caught between the two women.
Four tags, one clear triangle
Candy files it under Milf, Mother, Taboo and Wife, which is a fair summary. The stepmom is an older, married woman, the girlfriend is right there on the trip, and the setting is a vacation, where everyone is sharing a rental and routines are loose. It is a classic partner’s-parent setup moved outdoors.
That change of scene is the main point of difference. Plenty of Candy stories keep their forbidden affairs in a family kitchen; this one trades the house for sand, sun and a boardwalk, which gives it a lighter, holiday tone.
The catch
There is no twist in the synopsis. We are not told what the girlfriend knows, what the stepmom wants beyond the obvious or how the summer ends. Viewers who already know Candy’s stepmom catalogue will recognize the shape immediately. It is a well-worn trope, done in a new place.
